The funeral for Irish athlete and teacher Craig Lynch, who was killed in a car crash on the weekend, will take place on Wednesday.
Reposing at his residence on Tuesday from 12 noon until 8:00pm. Removal on Wednesday morning to arrive at St Patrick's Church, Shercock, for Funeral Mass at 12 noon.
Burial will take place afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
Craig, who was 29 and an athlete that represented Ireland was the sole occupant in his car which left the road on the Kells to Oristown road, before colliding with a wall in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Craig represented Ireland in the 400 metres at the European Championships in 2016.
He won the national indoor 60 metres title in 2016.
He was part of the Irish team that ran in the 2015 World Relay Championships which also included Thomas Barr, Dara Kervick, Brian Murphy, Brian Gregan and Richard Morrissey.
Originally from Shercock in Co Cavan, Craig was a teacher at Eureka Secondary School in Kells
"Following the tragic death of Craig Lynch, one of our most talented athletes, in a car accident last night, our thoughts and sympathies are with his parents, brothers, sisters, daughter, fiance and all family members, indeed the whole Shercock community at this sad time. Rest in peace, Craig," Shercock AC said in a statement published on Monday on social media.
"We are deeply saddened by the untimely death of our teacher, colleague and friend Craig Lynch. This is a terrible tragedy for his family, our school and the community," Eureka School Principal Caroline O'Reilly said Monday.
The family's death notice published on Monday said: "Deeply regretted by loving parents, Patsy and Ann, sibings, Gavin, Sharon, Joanna, Donal, Niamh and Richard, his daughter, Sarah, his beloved fiance, Amy, uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends."
The Irish Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport Shane Ross and the Minister with responsibility for Tourism and Sport Brendan Griffin also paid tribute to Craig Lynch on Monday.
"We wish to extend our condolences to Craig's family and friends. Craig was an extremely talented athlete who represented his country with great pride. We were extremely saddened to hear of the tragic death of Craig. Our sympathies and prayers are with Craig's family, Shercock AC and the greater athletic community at this very sad time."
